Collection: Skincare Routine for Dry Skin

Dry skin can be your foundation's worst enemy.

No one likes for their makeup to look patchy or flaky. Dry skin can feel dehydrated & tight, sometimes resulting in redness & irritation. Gentle & hydrating ingredients are going to be your best friends. Remember to wash only at night to prevent over-stripping your skin. Your makeup will also thank you. Here are some of my favorite products for dry skin that I've discovered over the years:

1. Fresh Soy Face Cleanser // This cleanser is so soothing & calming for dry skin. It's naturally scented by cucumber extract & packed with amino acid soy proteins to strengthen the skin. It's a lightweight gel formula that also works to gently tone uneven skin. This travel size is so cute & perfect to try this best-seller. Great for dry skin. Use PM.

2. Caudalie Grape Water or Frudia Pomegranate Nutri-Moisturizing Toner// This French brand is based on grape extracts because they know how antioxidant-rich they can be. I love to use this throughout the day when my cheeks feel dry or before my moisturizer to deliver intense hydration. It's soothing & fights redness instantly. The Frudia toner is also great for hydration & works great to restore the skin's barrier. Replace your alcohol-based toner with something replenishing- Frudia has amazing fruit oils & extracts that also fight signs of aging. Great for dry skin. Use AM or PM.

3. Shiseido Facial Cotton // Hear me out, regular cotton pads can actually be too harsh for dry skin. And don't you hate that regular cotton pads can leave traces of lint or pull your eyelashes out? Shiseido made these 100% natural sheets that help your skin absorb your essence or facial mist. I will not buy any other cotton sheet & my eyelashes are thankful for it. Great for all skin types. Use with your micellar water or makeup remover.

4. Drunk Elephant Lala Retro Whipped Cream or HaruHaru Wonder Black Rice Fermented Facial Moisturizer // This moisturizer has been my favorite for years! I love switching over to this one in the wintertime when my skin starts to feel dehydrated. It's replenishing because of the blend of 6 African oils & plant ceramide complex. That means it not only hydrates the skin, but it repairs your skin's barrier support to prevent further loss of moisture. Plus, it plumps your skin & is an amazing anti-aging product! It's known for being Allure's 2019 Reader's Choice, The Zoe Report 2019 Best New Luxury Skincare, & receiving Esquire 2019 Grooming Award. For someone who isn't ready to commit to Drunk Elephant, I love the Haruharu Wonder Moisturizer for its great hydrating benefits, made with hyaluronic acid, red ginseng, and soothing primrose. It's rich in antioxidants so you're protecting your skin from free radicals while hydrating your skin. Great for dry skin. Use AM & PM.

5. Mario Badescu Hyaluronic Eye Cream // I absolutely LOVE hyaluronic for dry skin, especially around the eye area. My own concealer never sits right without a hydrating eyecare underneath. I always apply eye cream to my brides before makeup application, & this one is gentle, at a great price point, & is aloe infused for that soothing effect. Great for dry skin & sensitive eyes. Use AM & PM.

6. Supergoop! Glow Stick SPF 50 // Last summer, I discovered this extraordinary sunscreen for my dry cheeks. The iconic Supergoop! formula was made in a dry oil balm for easy application, & a hydrating glow without the greasy residue. On days I wanted to highlight my cheekbones, this stick was perfect as my last step in my skincare routine & it lasted me forever! I felt like my skin was brighter & healthier with each use. Great for dry skin. Use AM.

7. Farmacy Coconut Gel Sheet Masks // This pack is perfect for my brides, & because it comes in a 4 pack, I love splitting this into gifts! It's unlike any sheet mask I've ever used. The fun-to-use gel mask feels cooling & flexes to my skin, which means I can walk around the house & get chores done in them (or snacking on the couch!) without them falling off. Your skin will love the crisp cucumber extract & boost of vitamin C. After removal, I like to massage the excess serum into my skin & my skin feels so soft & looks glowy! Great for dry skin. Use 1-3x week PM.

8. Malin + Goetz Lip Moisturizer // I discovered this product years ago from an old friend. We were taking a girls' weekend trip & somehow I forgot to pack my lip balm! I am religious about my lip care because of how dry it gets, & she shared an extra tube of this lip moisturizer. I used it to the very last squeeze because I loved it so much! Many lip products are infused with traditional oils, drying waxes, & silicones. But not this formula! It felt like putting on a quenching water gel. It's also fragrance, flavor, & dye-free. Great for all skin types. Use AM & PM or as needed.
