I seriously think I have issues with change. Don't get me wrong, I love pushing myself outside of my comfort zone with new colors & styles! But when it comes to certain things, I always feel safe when I resort to my OGs, especially when it comes to eyeshadow palettes. When I think about which palette is constantly being used all the way down to the bottom of the pan, it's Anastasia Beverly Hills Soft Glam.
It takes a lot for a palette to qualify in my book. When I'm thinking of investing into a palette, I look for the versatility & the color combinations- it HAS to be multi-purpose to be in my makeup bag. Usually my days consist of office work, outdoor lunches, & quiet time at home. So my safe color scheme would be anything nude, warm, & natural. Once in a while, there's "surprise" nights when we decide to go out for dinner, or have a spontaneous weekend away. Those are the times I'm ready for something more sultry & glam.
This 14-shadow palette creates just about any look because of the variety of colors. As someone who prefers the no-makeup-makeup-look, this palette easily has everything I need to create my dream look.
It has a wide range of matte, chrome and metallic finishes color payoff, both in neutrals and statement colors. Most days, I'm sweeping the "orange soda" over my lids & add dimension with a soft touch of "sienna" or "rustic" in the outer corner. Don't be intimidated by "noir"- its jet-black pigment is perfect for a wet liner brush for your lash line. For tired eyes (because who can guarantee 9 hours of sleep every night, ugh), apply a soft amount of "glistening" or "tempera" on the inner corners to brighten. You can easily achieve a smokey eye look for those date-nights with some of the darker hues- the colors are perfect for layering & transitioning. Use a light hand - these shadows are filled with pigment so a little will go a long way!
This particular set that you can find on Amazon is a great value set, included with a double-ended brush, a mini mascara, & a mini lip color!
